All set up for this and looking forward to it, too! Hoping I have everything I need to hand and that the Zoom session with my granddaughter has put me on the right tracks! Just have to see if the lighting works this evening!

I began this portrait shortly after my grandson got his First Class Honours Degree Certificate in the post and missed out on a cap and gown event due to the ongoing Corona virus restrictions. My portrait is a commemoration of the momentous occasion and I have had it on the easel in the last couple of days and feel pleased to have resolved it without losing the freshness!
A Quiet Celebration, oil on canvas, 14 x 10 inches Having focussed towards what would normally have been the @Rossendalearttrail, I have enrolled in a Zoom workshop and that should see me through to the end of November - so pleased to have this option in these Covid times. I am reorganising our conservatory to access my WiFi and have decent light to work in! Looking forward to it and gessoing surfaces in readiness!
The big weekend came and went without incidents which was predictable in these Covid times! However, the website that represents the participating artists will continue to be accessible for a year! Here is a slideshow of some of the paintings in my Garden Studio by way of a virtual tour! The annual Art Trail with its Open Studios is virtual this Covid year! Please follow the Trail via www.rossendalearttrail.org to see all the participating artists ! Looming Clouds,Acrylic and oil on canvas - one of the first of my lockdown paintings!
Virtual open StudioThe annual Rossendale Art Trail is virtual this year with a dedicated website to keep us going and raise the profile of local artists. Will post a link to my page from where you can access all the artists involved soon. In the meantime I’ve been trying to hang paintings as if getting the Garden Studio ready for actual visitors - if only!
Orchid Profusion, unframed watercolour, has been added to the section entitled Flower Power. Hoping to have finished streamlining my website in time for the #Rossendalearttrail - which in these Covid times is only virtual! Will post link to the Trail Website at the appropriate time!

Elizabeth CrabtreeAuthorOn retirement, I have found the time to take up art. I have always loved art and feel fortunate to be able to make paintings which I do in a variety of medium on a variety of supports,, from canvas to porcelain and bone china blanks. I hope to keep this blog informal and share how I feel about the world around me through my paintings. Archives
